Jack O’Leary wins Gold at Un23 Rowing World Championships

The Under 23 Men’s coxless Quad have been crowned the 2017 under 23 World Champions in an exciting and nail biting final.

The crew of Jack O’Leary (former academy athlete), Jack Lopas, Ollie Maclean, and Jordan Parry fought back through the field to take victory over Russia by 0.22 of a second.

Success for former academy athletes at World Para Athletics Games

New Zealand has finished the World Para Athletics Championships in London with five medals, two being from former academy athletes.

Jessica Hamill in the F34 shot put and Holly Robinson in the F46 javelin. Hamill’s best throw of 7.77m earned her a bronze while Robinson’s 42.41m effort landed her a silver medal.
